You Can Trek To Base Camp Too

About Louise Terranova

I’m fifty plus. Plus. Everest Base Camp was on my husband’s ‘Places to Go’ list, not on mine, in fact I was terrified to trek in Nepal. But I didn’t want to be left behind. So I bought trekking poles and we started training.

I never imagined the training and the trek would be a life changing experience. After the trek, feeling incredibly fit for the first time in my life was exhilarating.

And I loved the trek and Nepal so I decided to start this blog to encourage others to do the same. To trek to Mount Everest Base Camp. If I can do it so can you.

In October 2018 we added a pass to the list of treks. Cho La Pass to be precise. Another one that wasn’t on my list. I am currently trying to get those days to Gokyo and over Cho La Pass up as posts.

My email address is theyearitouchedmytoes@gmail.com if you would like to contact me to say hi or ask me a question.

Just for the record I do things other than mountains. I love beaches, travel, all things Italian, art, reading and cooking. So I might land on your blog for one of those reasons.

  1. Loved reading about your experience during Trekking to Everest Base Camp. We were thinking of doing this last year but didn’t due to the earthquake. After reading your post, we were nowhere near prepared for this trek. Thanks for the insight and many thanks for stopping by my blog! 🙂
